Study Tips: How to Be More Productive When Studying From Home
By Elisi Studios
Tons of universities have decided to stick with remote schooling this fall, and more are expected to follow.
Adjusting to this new style of learning can make it difficult to stay focused and organized. It is important that you’re caught up on assignments and able to practice good time management skills to get the grades you want!
Whether your school is committing to a semester of online education or you just want to improve your study habits, we’re here to help.
Read on for our top tips to become a more productive student when studying at home!
Try the Pomodoro Technique
Do you find sitting down to study to be a daunting task? Here’s a way to break it up and feel a bit more free–while actually becoming more productive.
The Pomodoro Technique is a productivity method that involves bursts of productivity followed by short breaks. The idea is that you work for 25 minutes, take a 5-minute break, work for 25, break for 5, and so on. Don’t worry, after three or four rounds, you can take a 30-minute break and grab a coffee, scroll through social media, or make a snack!

Become Task-Oriented
If you’re going to try out the Pomodoro Technique (or something similar), you’ll want to become task-oriented. In other words, break up your assignments into smaller pieces that are more manageable and less intimidating.
For example, don’t say, “I have one day to write this paper.” Instead, say, “I have one hour to do my research and take notes, one hour to write my thesis and introduction, and two hours to write my first draft.” Changing your perspective can help you to stay on track, rather than get too overwhelmed to start.
Track Your Alertness
You know that old saying, “Early bird gets the worm?” Throw it out! Or don’t, if you like to rise with the sun and find yourself ready to get cranking.
Our point is that it’s up to you to figure out when you’re most productive. When you’re studying at home, you’re not as tied to a daily schedule. In other words, if your brain kicks it into high gear somewhere around noon and keeps it up until the late hours of the night, that’s totally fine!
Organize in a Creative Way
Standard planners might give you the space to write down when an assignment is due but is there enough room for notes? Does it let you track your habits to find out what works for you and what doesn’t? Is it easy to make edits and switch things around?
Probably not! Do you know what does let you do all of that and more? Elisi, theĀ all-in-one planner that you can take with you anywhere you go. Get organized in a way that is creative, detailed, and adaptable–just like you.
